SI TRUE CRIME
I was approached by the producers of SI True Crime, a show being produced by Sports Illustrated and Jerry Bruckheimer (of the Top Gun Bruckheimers) to create a graphics package for the show. The package was to include lower thirds, full screen text, locators, photo treatments, and the big one, an opening title animation. It needed to showcase the big episodes they were going to produce, while being both stylish and ominous. There was a real desire to show the duality of the athletic world. One filled with the highest highs, riches and fame, and the flip side that often involves murder, drugs and betrayal. With the tiniest of crews, we captured a few live action elements to convey “the good life” of nice suits, flash bulbs, and reporter scrums. I then animated the second half, utilizing archive photos, textures and half tones to create the final piece.
I did many roles on this one, acting as Director, Animator, Editor, Designer & Photographer.
